Amplus Marginal Field Production Vessels

We offer marginal field solutions based on either new-build hulls with unique designs, or through the deployment of vessel conversions.

The new-build VPU – featuring a double-skinned hull – is designed to be as efficient as possible, while satisfying new maritime legislation. Spread Moored / Turret Moored or DP options available.

Spread Moored

Low Cost Spread Moored VPU, all the Amplus VPU options are sized to meet the specific client requirements with a large side mounted Riser Porch, which can support Multi-Riser and Control Umbilical requirements in a range of water depths.

Turret Moored

The Turret Mooring System uses a Dis-connectable Moored Turret Buoy, which can support Multi-Riser and Control Umbilical requirements in a range of water depths. The Moored Turret Buoy and Riser system can be installed off the Project “Critical Path” ensuring the VPU can be connected and ready to commence operations within a few hours of arriving in the field.

Dynamically Positioned (DP)

Dynamically Positioned (DP) option with no mooring system required utilises a Dis-connectable Turret Buoy and can support Multi-Riser and Control Umbilical requirements. The SURF/SPS equipment is specifically designed for supporting DP Marginal and Early Production Vessels, ensuring minimal Mobilisation and Demobilisation costs, whilst offering clients access to early cashflow and detailed Reservoir Performance information. Unlike Conventional FPSO’s the DP VPU can sit directly over the Production Well(s).

Technical Benefits
expand_less

Specifically designed to develop marginal fields

Spread moored, turret moored or DP options available

Minimal subsea architecture required

Flexibility to move field-to-field or regionally on DP options

Minimises mobilisation/demobilisation costs as the Turret Buoy and Risers can be installed and/or removed from the project’s critical path

Flexibility to scale up production if the Early Production Vessel is chosen as the long-term production facility for a field

Financial Benefits
expand_less

Minimises CAPEX spend

Extremely cost-effective OPEX costs

Significantly reduced SURF/SPS costs

Flexible contracting period(s)

Improved safety on DP options. Disconnectable Turret Buoy System DTS enables rapid disconnection from the energy source and protects the subsea infrastructure from potential damage.

Significantly improved flow assurance: the Early Production Vessel can sit directly above wells.

Easily modifiable during the life of the field. Disconnect the DTS from subsea facilities and, when docked, perform modification under controlled conditions with full onshore support. Maintenance can be carried out without costly offshore personnel, supply vessels or IRM programmes.
